Human Cattle (dark short story)

I am born…

My infant body slides down a conveyor belt.

A horrible monster grabs me by the leg, lifts me up and inspects me.

He stamps me, and puts me back on the conveyor belt.

Fifteen years pass…

I am now a young adult, stupid and child like.

I have grown up in an empty room with no means of escape.

All i can do is pleasure myself in stupidity, what else is there to do in this hollow room of blank walls?

Then one day a hole appears in the wall, and a set of legs comes out.

They are like mine, except where they meet there is something different.

Some strange slit, upon inspection i discover it is warm and wet inside there.

I look at the slit, then at the thing in between my legs and instinct takes over.

It feels better than i imagined and i don’t want it to stop, ever.

Then the legs are pulled away and the wall closes.

I scream and yell and bang my fists against the walls but they don’t come back.

I cry myself to sleep.

But when i wake up a different set of legs are there, and everything repeats itself.

Ten more years pass…

I am now a man of twenty five, strong and in my prime.

Every day the legs come and every day i put my seed in them.

Sometimes the legs are dark like when i close my eyes, but that doesn’t matter.

Then one day when i’m enjoying the legs the back wall opens up and huge monsters with claws and glowing sticks come in.

I yell at them in fear and stupidity before i run at them to attack.

They burn me with their glow sticks and i can’t move anymore.

Now they’re dragging me down a hall, and all i can hear are strange noises and the sound of machinery.

When i can move again i’m strapped down on something, and in front of me is another of my kind in the same predicament.

Slowly we are moving forward and the ground is covered with some red liquid, like water but thicker.

Then the man in front of me stops moving and his straps are released.

He falls onto a conveyor belt and does not move, the red liquid pouring from his head.

I’m scared because i don’t know what’s going to happen.

I just know it’s bad.

I don’t want to die, i don’t want to die, i don’t wan to d…a metal spike shoots through my skull.

My straps are released and my limp body falls onto the moving floor.

As i try to breathe the final images i see are of the clawed monsters.

They have huge metal things in their hands and they use them to cut us into pieces.

One of them cuts me into pieces, thighs, shoulders, chest muscles.

All are taken from our bodies and thrown into boxes, which then go into freezers.

The unused organs, bones, and remaining parts are sent into the grinder where they are chopped to tiny bits and fed to those of us still in the rooms with the legs.

I am in box number 678 headed for Southland.

The box arrives and is taken into a building, where one of the monsters pulls out a piece of meat from my chest.

He places it on a grill and cooks it, medium rare.

Then he adds spices and a zesty house marinara sauce before putting it on a plate next to some mashed potatoes.

The plate is then taken to a table, where another monster eats it and complains about how much it costs.

Hello, nice to meet you! Loveless here to say that this was interesting. You often forgot to capatilize your I's. Yes, I know you may be in a hurry to post your work of art, but please read over before you post. There is one sentence -You will see it if you re-read this. I can't quote it because I'm working from the back of a car on my cell phone.- that really confused me. Fix it please.
I love how your reffer to women and sex as "the legs" though I am a girl, and should probably take offense to that, it is still pretty hilarious. At the end I really see how one would see him as a cow. Something about him being human just pushes this further for me. I really liked this! Welcome to YWS and don't forget to review at least two posts. Its the rules. Bye-bye.

Summer "Loveless" Night

I liked this a lot. To me it comes off as a sort of social commentary and I think it's very well done. My only issue with the content is the intelligence of the narrator. If he is human (the title says he is) then I think he would be NATURALLY smarter than how you made him out. For example, not knowing that the red water-like substance is blood? Even living entirely within a white room he would know what blood is. You kind of gave him the mind of a cow while saying he's human, and if that's the case then you might as well just write it from a cow's perspective. Since what I think you're trying to do is create more sympathy for the slaughter victim by making him human... you should go all the way with that. I was unsure for a while whether we were supposed to think this was a human or a cow. (Also, making the main character that much more intelligent/resourceful would make this twice as scary). And that was my only problem with this. This was a great piece. yeah!
